Filmed on Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, British West Indies, EPS leaves the coastline and turns inland and inward in this film. The film explores Melissa, a 13 year old local girl, circling in a ritualistic manner around an iconic "fig" tree. With a contemplative yearning, Melissa searches for the sparrow, seeking enlightenment and wisdom. Smith portrays a relatable experience with her subject, her need and clinginess to the vines as nature bares witness, and confrontation of possible disappointment and pleas that go unanswered.
