A VERY LONG DAY
A VERY LONG DAY is an interconnected series of tapestries which articulate an arc of emotions that arise while one is waiting.
A VERY LONG DAY is an interconnected series of tapestries which articulate an arc of emotions that arise while one is waiting. Each tapestry is an excerpt of the complete visual poem, 17 unique in total. In the manner of Haiku, the series presents a natural, seemingly commonplace event, communicated with sparse hand-drawn visuals, hand-assembled with a specific color palette out of flat velvet-style pile carpet.
The tapestries are non-sequential. The scale of this work it’s potential expansion of the overall dimensions is depending on the final installation.
This series has tangential works; pyramid environmental sculptures and a sound installation. WIND PATTERNS takes a deeper dive into the cause and effects of interactions with the environment presenting a micro view of the effects of traversing on the land with effects of the wind after the long day. I WAITED FOR YOU II is an audio focussed installation to be contained in its own space for a fully immersive experience. Please inquire for more information.
